Hotel Villa Pascucci
About This Property
Here’s what actually makes Villa Pascucci worth considering: someone clearly spent serious money recreating an Italian Renaissance palazzo on the Albanian coast. We’re talking frescoed ceilings, marble everywhere, and enough ornate detailing to make you wonder if you accidentally booked a Tuscan villa. The signature black pool (which photographs incredibly well, by the way) sits next to a standard pool, both surrounded by loungers that somehow never seem fully occupied even in peak season.
The spa situation is legitimately impressive—full hammam, sauna, hot tub, and treatment rooms where the staff actually know what they’re doing. I’ve watched guests disappear into the wellness center for three-hour sessions and emerge looking genuinely relaxed (not just Instagram-relaxed). The AB Restaurant serves solid Albanian and international dishes, though don’t expect Michelin-level creativity. What you get is consistent, well-executed food that won’t blow your mind or your budget. Breakfast gets mixed reviews—plenty of options but some guests find it repetitive after a few days.
Now for the reality check: the beach location claims need context. Yes, you’re technically 700 meters from Durrës Beach, but it’s a 15-minute walk on sidewalks that range from “acceptable” to “why does this even exist.” Most guests either drive (free parking is a huge plus) or taxi it, which runs about €3-5 each way. The hotel’s about 6 km south of central Durrës on the Kavajë road, which means you’re trading beachfront convenience for space, quieter surroundings, and those pools most hotels can’t fit.
The staff consistently earn praise across every review platform—friendly without being overly formal, helpful without hovering, and genuinely seem to care whether you’re having a good time. Rooms are spacious (the Deluxe Suites with spa baths are genuinely luxurious), well-maintained, and come with all the expected amenities plus a few extras like actual Pascucci coffee in your room. At around €85/night, you’re getting strong value for what’s essentially boutique luxury—just factor in that car rental or taxi budget if you plan to actually see the beach or Durrës proper.
